Srinagar: As conflicts rage across the globe selfless workers risk their lives on a daily basis to provide aid to the civilians left in their wake. The humanitarians around the globe don’t just answer the call for help when war breaks out ? they also rush to the rescue when a natural disaster hits or to tackle effects of poverty in the world’s most deprived locations. The increasingly vital role that aid workers fill has been marked by the UN on August 19 with the celebration of World Humanitarian Day (WHD) every year.
The students and teachers of AGS, Hajan equally participated and celebrated the World Humanitarian Day with grand fervour, which pays tribute to selfless aid workers. The teachers briefed the children on the ways to promote humanitarian principles and vales during the interactions and a debate on disaster preparedness as well as health care in community was also conducted in which the bright students of AGS actively participated. The students and staff members felt the event to be very interactive and useful and everyone swore to work for humanity without any distinction of colour, caste, creed, race etc.
