Two Alleged Thieves Held By Locals in Lolab

Two alleged thieves were held, and later on handed over to police, by locals in Potushahi Lolab on intervening night of Thursday and Friday night.

Reports reaching GNS said that inhabitants in Potushahi Lolab held two thieves while in act inside a house belonging to one Abdul Hameed Bajad son of Jalal Din Bajad in Mir Mohalla Potushahi, in absence of house owner.

On intimation, a police team visited the spot and took the alleged duo into their custody.

The alleged duo has been identified as Irshad Ahmed Bhat son of Ab Ganie and Sajad Ahmed Sheikh son of Juma Sheikh, residents of Kantpora Lolab.

A local, on wishing anonymity, told GNS that the apprehended duo has been active for a long time now in the area. “We urge the police to strictly deal with them and also find out their accomplices”, he said.

Meanwhile police sources told GNS that an FIR number 90/21 under sections 457, 380 IPC has been registered at Police Station Sogam for further investigations. (GNS)
