These shops were disallowed under the relevant sections of Drugs & Cosmetic Act by the sleuths of Drug Control Organisation Anantnag–Kulgam during supervisory checks of retail sale outlets of various areas viz. Kund, Oril, Razloo, NigeenPora, Kanchloo, Kraloo, Thathoo, Nagrus, Botengo, Devsar, Shoedevsar, Chowgam, Pahloo, Kilam, Akhran, Kulgam Main Market, Chadder, Frisal, Kader, Quimoh, Khudwani, Yaripora and other areas.
The licenses of two medical shops were also cancelled during the drive by these teams and the reason for the suspension ranged from non-maintenance of sales records, impersonation, unhygienic condition and improper storage conditions of medicines.
Meanwhile the suspended firms were warned to rectify the deficiencies within stipulated period of time. The statutory drug sample of over 18 formulations was lifted randomly.
The aim of the drive was to ensure that the medical stores operate strictly in consonance with the mandate of law and in the best of patient care.
The Assistant Drug Controller informed that the department is going to carry out more similar action in the district in the future to ensure that no firm indulges in any unfair or unethical trade practices.
