Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq strongly condemned the killing of a civilian Gulzar Ahmed Mir at Litter, Pulwama in force’s firing and leaving dozens of other civilians seriously injured, stating that the trigger happy forces have once again proven that they can kill at their will as they continue remain laced with the black laws like AFSPA under which they enjoy full impunity to fire at innocent civilians in Kashmir.
In a statement issued to KNS, Mirwaiz paid rich tributes to Gulzar Ahmed Mir and expressed solidarity and sympathy with his family members. Mirwaiz also prayed for the speedy recovery of those who got injured in force’s firing.
Mirwaiz said that since past 30 years, forces are committing heinous crimes while worst form of human rights violations have taken place under a well-planned conspiracy In Kashmir. He said the genocide of Kashmiri people is on in the name of bringing so-called ‘peace’.
Hurriyat (M) chairman said innocent persons will continue to get killed as long as Indian forces enjoy unbridled powers and the dispute on Kashmir remains unresolved.
Mirwaiz reiterated that Kashmir issue is basically human and political in nature and reminded GOU that it can’t be resolved by means of military might and killing people.
Mirwaiz said it is unfortunate that the GoI continues with its iron fist policy in Kashmir to muzzle the genuine struggle while as all tools are being employed to change the basic nature of the long pending dispute.
Mirwaiz said that Kashmir issue is known to the world community and no ploys can change its nature and its resolution is highly inevitable for the everlasting peace in the sub-continent and South Asia. He said in past many efforts were made to change the dispute nature of Kashmir, but all such moves failed and will continue to fail as world community including UN is witness that there are 18 pending resolutions in UNSC which guarantees the right to self determination to people of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Mirwaiz paid glorious tributes to the youth Waseem Shah and Nasir Mir, who were martyred in a gunfight at Litter Pulwama Mirwaiz said people of Kashmir are committed to the cause of freedom and will not rest till the ongoing movement is taken forward. (KNS)
