Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal were arrested by police, a party spokesperson said on Monday. Both are lodged at police station Kothi Bagh.
The spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS said police on Monday early morning cordoned the residence of JKLF chairman and arrested him. “JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal went to see him at police station Kothi Bagh where police arrested him too and lodged him along with Yasin Malik,” he said.
Strongly condemning these arrests, JKLF said that Jammu Kashmir has been turned into a police state where to stop any protest or political activity leaders are arrested and incarcerated.
“All this is being done by so-called rulers who shamelessly call themselves as Democrats and civilized people,” JKLF said.
