Haq Khan decides to stay back with PDP ‘for now’

Srinagar: Abdul Haq Khan who was dropped by PDP has decided to stay back for now with PDP even though people close to him said that he is shocked and believes that he has been removed to appease New Delhi.

With his surprise exit from ministry, there is no minister representing PDP in Kupwara district.

The sources also maintain that Khan has only decided to stay back for now. They insist that he will not quit PDP immediately. They, however, stressed that he has been hurt and he only stayed back with PDP given his long allegiance with the party as he has been among founding members of the party.

Sources also disclosed that a number of top PDP leaders have met Haq Khan following his sacking from the cabinet.

Pertinent to mention here that Haq was summoned to Srinagar two days before the reshuffle by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and asked that party has decided that he shall look after his constituency and the party.

It has come as a shock and he even could not respond to what he was asked.

The sources, however, maintained it would have its repercussions in the future election.
