“Back to Village” Programme commenced in 70 Panchayat Halqas of 05 blocks of Vessu, Qazigund, Shahabad, Verinag & Hiller in district Anantnag. The visiting officers Director Finance Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Wani, & Director Fisheries Mr. RN Pandita visited Omoh & Vessu went to their respective Halqas and interacted with the public, PRIs, civil society members, prominent citizens, members of Auqaf Committees, Students & other concerned, heard their grievances and suggestions with regard to the development of the villages including development of the basic infrastructure & amenities.
The participants put forth various demands relating to Power supply, Water supply, banking facilities, installation of transformers, construction of approach roads, supply of HT/LT, polls, De-silting of Irrigation Lads, issuance of Marriage Assistance, Old Age pensions, ration cards, registration of labourers by Labour Department, establishment of Sheep and Animal Husbandry centres, registration of artisans, construction of playfields and conservation of water resources, proper implementation central and state sponsored schemes, issuance of job cards, issuance of Horticulture Passbooks, infrastructures for schools and Anganwadi centres & to provide loan facility without seeking guarantee from the government employees.
The visiting officers visited various government institutions, schools, health centres, banks, under execution works & other village Panchayats. They witnessed all activities including distribution of certificates; cultural programmes, sports activities & departmental meetings.
The visiting officers Director Finance & Director Fisheries visited Omoh & Vessu village and interacted with the participants during the “Back to Village” Programme and heard the problems and demands of the people patiently and issued instructions for redressal of the immediate issues & demands to the concerned officers for redressal & also assured them that their genuine demands are being recorded during the programme will be submitted to the government. He also said that the government has initiated to organize the programme to address the problems faced by the people at the grass root level and the officers have been designated to record and list the demands so that future plans can be prepared accordingly. The ACD Anantnag Mr. Mohammad Aslam, & BDOs of Vessu, Qazigund, Verinag & Shahabad from RDD & officers from 18 concerned departments attended the programme.
