Another militant held in injured conditions, police initiates investigations; thousands attend the funeral of slain
Police have recovered a body of a local militant while apprehended another in injured conditions in orchards of Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said on Thursday.
A police spokesman said that the body of one active militant was recovered from the orchards in Bijbehara area of District Anantnag while another injured militant was arrested by a joint team of Police and security forces from the area.
“The slain has been identified as Adil Dass from Waghama Bijbehara. After completion of all legal medico formalities, the body of the slain has been handed over to the family members for last rites,” the spokesman said.
Sources said that the slain militant was earlier affiliated with LeT and later had joined ISJK.
Moreover the injured militant has been identified as Arif Hussain Bhat of Fathepora Larkipora Anantnag. He has been taken into custody and admitted to hospital where he is being administered medical treatment, the spokesman said.
Police has registered a case in this regard. Further investigation in the matter is going on, he said.
Meanwhile, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of the slain and was later laid to rest amid pro-freedom slogans.
