Vacant department goes straight to CM
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari denied the reports of taking charge of finance minister.
“I have not taken charge of finance ministry. These are all rumors and one should not pay any heed to it. If any department becomes vacant, it is understood that it goes straight to the Chief Minister.” Bukhari told KNS over phone.
Commenting on dropping of Haseeb Drabu, Bukhari said that one should understand that Party’s agenda is supreme. “It is lesson for others not to make such comments, which goes against the interests of the party and people of the state,” Bukhari added.
It is to mention here that the chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Monday dropped Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu from the council of ministers over his controversial remarks that “Kashmir is not a political issue but a society with social issues”.
Speaking at an event themed ‘Kashmir: The Way Forward’ at New Delhi, Drabu was quoted by media saying that people need to introspect over nature and origins of situation in the state and how it can be resolved. “Don’t see J&K as a conflict state and a political issue, it is a society which has social issues right now. We are trying to find our own space and we are going through a process which many other countries are also going through,” Drabu was quoted.
On Monday the Chief Minister wrote a letter to Rajbhawan informing the Governor N N Vohra about removal of Drabu from the council of ministers.
